I'm Hekatie Squires (she/her), an Illustrator from Warwickshire, UK
'Hekatie' is a play on the Greek goddess Hecate, with my real name, Katie. Hecate is a protective goddess said to have guided Persephone to and from the Underworld, and is thus associated with liminality, the occult, and night. And also dogs.
I create charming, sometimes funny character-based work that can be a little weird, eccentric, or even a little scary! I dip into the surreal and the supernatural, and I love creating narratives around unconventional heroes - as a proudly Autistic woman, I'm drawn to fellow weirdos and outsiders.
